DeLaney's Rafter 4D Ranch
Sybil's father, Charlie Campbell was a widely known and greatly
respected cattleman and Hereford breeder in Lamkin, Texas. In 1964,
when Charlie passed away, Robert and Sybil bought a portion of his
pasture land formally know as the Rafter C Ranch. They changed the
name from the Rafter C to the Rafter 4D in honor of their four family
members; Sybil, Robert, son James and daughter Bobbie.
Robert began using AI and high performance and total performance bulls
to supplant and upgrade the cow herd. Focusing on registered Polled
Herefords, Robert and Sybil along with their children concentrated on
improving the breed.
In 2004, Robert DeLaney published his first book, A Son of the
Blacksmith.
After Sybils and Robert's passing, James DeLaney continues to operate
the DeLaney's Rafter 4D Ranch with his family.
